A Formal Affair
This weekend a friend had a shindig at his place. We drew up invitations, finished them off with wax seals and instituted a formal dress code.
More importantly, we whipped up some killer hors d’oeurves (and a killer presentation) for “cocktail hour,” which really ended up being “cocktail evening.”
Deviled eggs have been a party staple on these occasions, so naturally, we whipped up a batch.
This bruschetta was made fresh from cherry tomatoes. I forget the bread it was served on but it was a bit softer than the traditional baguette. Still awesome though. These went fast.
There were some ripe mangoes in the fridge that we couldn’t pass up. Served it with yogurt and jam, topped with cherries.
The full spread, with cheese, caviar, & crackers. Cheeses, from left to right, are gouda, sharp cheddar, and brie buché with oil and vinegar.
